AI Insights: A Week of Innovations, Challenges, and Speculations

Greetings! After an exhilarating week, I’m ready to dive into this week’s AI news. From OpenAI’s financial challenges to Amazon’s AI-driven customer reviews, there’s a lot to cover. Let’s get started!

OpenAI’s Financial Struggles

A recent report reveals that ChatGPT is costing $700,000 per day. Microsoft’s $10 billion investment in OpenAI seems to be keeping the company afloat.

However, since ChatGPT’s peak in May, the number of users has declined each month. Some attribute this to the summer months when students are out of school. With schools reopening, it’ll be interesting to see if ChatGPT usage rises again. A concerning report from businessstandard.com warns that OpenAI could go bankrupt by the end of 2024 if they don’t turn a profit and if Microsoft stops the cash flow.

Exciting Research and Launches

Research shows that AI bots can now beat captchas, posing a potential risk

Example of a captcha

In the near future they’re going to be completely pointless because AI can solve them for you and if you didn’t know captcha actually stands for Completely Automated Public Tiering test to tell Computers and Humans Apart so if you’re like me and didn’t even know that that was an acronym now you know now the fact that these AI Bots can actually beat captchas is sort of a huge risk if people create autonomous Bots that can Brute Force crack into websites and solve captchas it could wreak havoc on a lot of websites we’re gonna have to come up with some sort of new proof of humanity really quickly
